10yr old Kamrie has named Friday, May 16th “JUST1” Day.
On this day, she asks that everyone do something nice for a child, no matter how old you are or where you are in the world!
What does “JUST1” mean? It means, “If you can’t help 100, Help JUST ONE!” It originated from Mother Theresa who said, “If you can’t feed 100, feed Just One.”
Last year, 10yr old Kamrie named Friday, May 17th “JUST1” Day! This year on Friday, May 16th, she would like to ask you to participate in “JUST1” Day again. How do you participate? She just wants you to help a child, no matter where you are in the world on this day. This can be as simple as reading a book together, volunteering at a local school or library, buy a gatorade for a kid at a ballpark, let another kid go first at the water fountain, give out compliments, whatever you can do, JUST DO IT. You can make a difference for “JUST1”. We all can! So remember Friday, May 16th is “JUST1” Day!
In May 2013, Kamrie was asked to speak to 75-4th graders in Rogers, AR about how she had been helping children in need. She took a clip board with a petition attached to it and she asked every one of those 4th graders to sign the petition. By signing, they were pledging to participate in “JUST1” Day. Every student signed it and even before she left the school that day, and even though JUST1 Day was several days out, students were already doing small acts of kindness for their peers. It was amazing!
She has designed “JUST1” bracelets to show participation in and to raise awareness of this day. The bracelets are only $1 each and all proceeds will go to Kamrie’s Colorful Creations to help homeless children/children in need. The bracelets are due to arrive on or before February 25th. We will mail yours out to you as soon as we get them in from the manufacturer. You can purchase the bracelets here on our website or locally at various businesses. We will update the list of businesses as they come in to us.
Thank you and we hope that you will not only find a unique way to help a child on “JUST1” Day but we hope that you will inspire others to do the same!
